Do Carcasses Have the Right Not to Be Property?

A vegan mantra: “Animals have a right not to be property.”

But does a carcass have the same right?

For all the means of acquiring flesh: hunting where the animal was never property, pulling a body from a dumpster, scavenging road kill, a passed plate at a dinner party, and perhaps even buying flesh from the butcher or the deli–does the carcass carry the rights of the animal?

Does a carcass have the right not to be property?

Does eating meat in itself cause a violation of rights?
